There are a variety of types of PII that Caféwell collects. Non-Personal Information and Personally Identifiable Information ("PII"), both of which are discussed below.

As stated above, Caféwell requires that you provide certain personally identifiable information during the registration process as well as optional information in your user profile. Examples of such information can be, but are not limited to, things like your name, birthday, email address, and optional data such as city, state, zip code, country, and health interests.
As part of the registration process, you will also be required to create an account password which will be stored with Caféwell.
Some of the information you provide when you register will be visible to other people visiting the site. Members may control some profile fields which other members can see by adjusting the privacy settings on their account.
The purpose of Caféwell is to allow members to communicate about various health issues affecting them in the hope that market place of ideas will help promote the quality of our members health and healthcare. To that end, members will have a variety of methods to communicate with each other including but not limited to email, private messaging and posts to the Caféwell site. Each time a content creation feature on the Caféwell site is used, the information contained in that communication will be available not only to the recipient, but to Caféwell as well. Although Caféwell will make reasonable efforts to safeguard this information, it is important for members to understand that Caféwell makes no representations regarding the confidentiality of any given communication notwithstanding that the correspondence may involve the communication to a medical professional.
One of the most important features of Caféwell is the ability for members to communicate with each other and with health care professionals through the use of posts or forums which allow the user to create content on the Website. When a member creates or posts content on Caféwell he or she shares it with the Caféwell community at large. Additionally, because Caféwell provides opportunities for members to integrate their Caféwell experience with other social networking websites, it is possible that information posted on Caféwell may be made available to the outside world. Therefore, if a member chooses to post information on Caféwell, he or she automatically makes that information public, not only to the Caféwell community but also potentially to non-members. Because of this Caféwell strongly encourages its members to think twice before posting any Personal Identifiable Information or any health or medical information as that information may be seen or used by other members without your knowledge or consent.
If you choose to communicate directly with other members on Caféwell, those members may be able to view certain PII related to your account such as your email address, your user name and any information that you chose to post on the Website. Likewise, if you send an email to a member or invite a non-member to join Caféwell we will provide your name and your email address to the intended recipient.
Members may sign up to receive regular updates, blogs or newsletters regarding particular topics of interest to them. If you have indicated through your profile settings that you wish to receive updates on discussions, blogs, news, connection requests or other items of interest, you will receive periodic communications from Caféwell. Members may also automatically receive updates from other members who they have accepted as Friends on Caféwell.
Members will have the ability to participate in various health "challenges" as more set forth (does not make sense) under Caféwell's Terms and Conditions. Members who participate in these challenges may be disclosing personally identifying information by participating.
Members shall occasionally receive and are not able to opt out of certain account related emails from Caféwell. These emails may be related to your individual account or may relate to all members (i.e., such as an update to this Privacy Policy). These emails will be sent to you as long as you are a member of Caféwell.
Cookies
We may collect Non-Personal Information about your use of Caféwell and your use of its selected sponsors and advertisers through the use of Cookies. Every computer that accesses a Caféwell Website is assigned a different Cookie by Caféwell. Access to your Personally Identifiable Information is limited to the information reasonably necessary for the employee to perform the function needed to resolve the issue or to improve the service.
Caféwell operations and maintenance contractors sometimes have limited access to your Personally Identifiable Information in the course of providing products or services to Caféwell. You hereby grant to Caféwell a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, to reproduce, distribute, transmit, publicly perform, publicly display, digitally perform, modify, create derivative works of, and otherwise use and commercially exploit any text, photographs or other data and information you submit to the Website (collectively, "User Generated Content") in any media now existing or hereafter developed, including without limitation on websites, in audio format, and in any print media format (the "User Generated Content License"). "User Generated Content" includes but is not limited to content posted by you, whether posted on your personal page or another members page, blogs, forums, discussion groups, challenge pages, and/or user comments. You hereby waive any rights of publicity and privacy with respect to the User Generated Content and any other legal or moral rights that might preclude Caféwell's use of the User Generated Content or require your permission for Caféwell to use the User Generated Content. You agree not to assert any claim, whether based on tort, contract, or other legal theory, against Caféwell or its sublicensees relating to its or its sublicensees' use of the User Generated Content that is in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in Caféwell's Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Additionally you hereby release Caféwell and its sublicensees from any such claims.
You have the right to access, correct and delete inaccuracies in your personal information and privacy preferences at any time. With respect to Registration Information, this may be accomplished by logging in to your account on the Website, where you can view and make changes to your personal information. With respect to User Generated Content you may have a limited ability to edit or delete that content depending on the specific portion of the website which it is posted. For example a member will not have the ability to edit or delete information posted in a forum although a member will generally have the ability to edit or delete information posted on their own personal page.
Notwithstanding whether the member has an ability to edit or delete information seen by others it is imperative for members to understand that even if a member deletes any User Generated Content from the view of others, such information may still be stored on other databases, specifically, including those kept for archival purposes. Caféwell will not endeavor to retrieve deleted content from our archives in order to erase it from the archives. Also members should be aware that any User Generated Content that you post may have been republished or distributed prior to deletion may remain publicly available on another portion of the Website or otherwise.
It is important for you to be mindful that the content you create on Caféwell may be available to the general public and may be collected, copied or indexed by third parties such as search engines (Google, etc.).
